This AAT course provides the higher level of skills needed by accounting personnel progressing onto management and financial accounting. It is a nationally recognised qualification from a prestigious awarding body leading to AAT membership. The course will allow use of the designatory letters MAAT and offers enhanced career prospects.
The AAT Level 4 Diploma prepares you to hold a senior finance role by teaching you to undertake advanced processes, such as drafting financial statements for limited companies, performing complex management accounting tasks and developing your management skills. The level 4 accounting course also gives you the opportunity to choose two specialist units, allowing you to select the areas of study which interest you most.
You must possess the AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and complete an interview with a member of the AAT team.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be required to complete a 4,000 word management report on a work-based scenario. All other units will be assessed by computer-based examination some of which is marked by the computer and the rest marked by AAT appointed personnel.
Passing all the examinations and gaining full AAT membership will significantly enhance your employment and career prospects. You may also progress to ACCA (exempt F1, F2 and F3), ACA (with exemptions) or CIMA Managerial Level, or onto an accountancy and finance degree. These professional accountancy bodies recognise the AAT qualification as being equivalent to a UK degree in accounts, and grant similar exemptions from parts of their qualification.
