This course is an additional qualification suitable for dental nurses who are required to carry out dental radiography tasks within the dental surgery. It is aimed at qualified registered dental nurses with at least one year’s post qualification experience.
This course covers a range of topics that will allow you to become proficient in patient x-rays. You will cover anatomical structures, the nature of x-rays, interaction with x-ray matter and patient radiation management.
You must hold a Level 3 dental nursing qualification, have a GDC registration number and have at least a year’s post qualification experience.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be assessed by observations from a dental nursing assessor, through a portfolio of evidence, log book, physics assignment and an examination/project.
Completing the course will help you develop your career in areas such as dental hygiene and diagnostic radiotherapy.
