This specialist HND: Business (Accounting) will put an emphasis on applied learning, developing skills and applying these within the workplace. In acknowledgement of the benefits and skills gained on this new specialist pathway, a number of professional bodies have awarded accreditation. These currently include the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Information has been offered that indicates additional bodies are also in discussion to follow suit.
This course follows a study path with a variety of accounting modules which concentrate on the acquisition of practical skills designed to equip you for a role in today’s fast changing accounting professions. An accounting professional should understand business as a whole and successful financial analysis and detailed advice and guidance stems from this overall knowledge. To facilitate the development of your all around skills you will study selected units from a wide variety of business areas which may include human resources, marketing and business planning/strategies.

Delivery and Assessment
You will be assessed via a range of activities that could include examinations, assignments and presentations.
Students who pass the course will have an enhanced prospect of immediate employment in the accounting professions via professional accounting qualifications or progression to a full degree with an institution of higher education.
