College students use fashion fundraiser to support local special school

Foundation learning students at Stourbridge College are sharing the proceeds of their fashion fundraising event with a local school. Pens Meadow Special School’s outbuilding, known as the Forest School was destroyed by a fire in August and they are collecting money for its rebuild.

To support this, a ladies’ fashion show with a pop up shop is taking place at Stourbridge College on Thursday 2 November at 7.30pm.

Alexandra Crockett, Student Placement Officer at the college said: “The students are pleased to have the chance to support Pens Meadow, along with raising money for their own learning activities. They all agree that it will mean more to them to have shared their money with others.”

Tickets for the fashion show and pop up shop event cost £8.00 and include a buffet, drinks and entry into a raffle.

“The students are organising every aspect of the event from selling tickets, arranging the layout and providing refreshments,” Alexandra Crockett continued. “This will help develop their enterprise skills and provide some great work experience. It’s going to give them a real confidence boost so we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Tickets for the event cost £8 and include drinks, a buffet and entry into a raffle. To purchase tickets or for further information, contact Alexandra Crockett at Alexandra.crockett@bmet.ac.uk or call 07976 257661
