What will the apprentice be doing?

- Generate letters, reports and documents when required.
- Create financial/statistical information using spreadsheets, as required.
- Manage, organise and update database applications, as required.
- Deal professionally and effectively with staff, students, customers, the general public and external agencies.
- Maintain stationary supplies as appropriate.
- Support enrolment procedure as required. Enrolment of learners using college systems and processes, assessment of eligibility to funding and processing fee payments where required.
- Provide support for wider college events during the evening/weekends to include Enrolment, Invigilation and Open Events according to the needs of the college.
General Duties Required of all Support Staff:
- Provide an effective, efficient and professional service to all stakeholders and customers.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Undertake staff development as required.
- Participate in the College’s Performance Management Review Process.
- Comply with the Data Protection Act, and manage college data and Information securely.
- Work safely and efficiently in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Any other duties that are commensurate with the post and salary scale.
- Demonstrate commitment to the vision and values of the College.

What training will the apprentice undertake and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful apprentice will complete a full ‘Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship’ standard. The training will be delivered by Birmingham Metropolitan College on a flexible day release delivery model.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Birmingham Metropolitan College will be looking to offer full time opportunities and further training upon completion of the apprenticeship for the right candidate.

Qualifications
Its desirable for the applicant to have acquired 5 x GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade Grade C/4 or above. Its essential to have acquired English Language and Maths at GCSE or equivalent at Grade Grade C/4 or above

Preferable – Previous experience of dealing with customer enquiries and complaints.
