At BMet we take our responsibility to protect the rights and freedoms of our data subjects in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 as it applies to the law of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland by virtue of section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (“UK GDPR”).
However we recognise that there are instances where we are obliged to share personal data with a competent authority under schedule 2 part 1 paragraph 2 of the Data Protection Act 2018, for the prevention or detection of crime or the apprehension or prosecution of offenders, the UK GDPR Article 6(1)(d) vital interests where the processing is necessary to protect someone’s life or in emergency situations where it is necessary and proportionate to do so.
In where the request is for the prevention or detection of crime or the apprehension or prosecution of offenders, we request that the authority submits a WA170 form to the below address for action.
