The Level 3
Certificate in Bookkeeping develops complex skills and knowledge necessary to
work in a bookkeeping role or to progress to higher level accountancy roles or
study. Students completing this qualification will become competent in financial
processes including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping and
preparing financial statements. They will also be introduced to business issues
regarding payroll and value added tax (VAT). Financial
Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements This unit provides
students with the skills required to produce statements of profit or loss and
statements for financial position for sole traders and partnerships, using a
trial balance. Students will gain
the double-entry bookkeeping skills needed to record financial transactions into
an organisation’s accounts using a manual bookkeeping
system. Tax Processes
for Business This unit explores tax
processes that influence the daily operations of businesses and is designed to
develop students’ skills in understanding, preparing and submitting Value Added
Tax (VAT) returns to HM Revenue & Customs. The unit provides students with the
knowledge and skills needed to keep businesses, employers, and clients compliant
with laws and practices that apply to VAT and payroll. Study Method: Online, you will study award-winning video
lessons, which are available on demand, and can be viewed from your phone,
tablet or computer – meaning you can choose how, when and where you want to
study. On campus, you benefit from regular classes with a
college tutor – without having to commit to attending multiple evenings each
week. Your tutor will review what you have learnt during your online lessons and
will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and
assessment. Level 3 Accounting courses are fully funded for eligible learners
(those without a full Level 3 qualification).

Applicants need to be 19 years old or above. Achieved level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping. Working at Level 2 in both in literacy and numeracy skills which will be assessed prior to enrolment.
The qualification is delivered on a part time basis over a 15-week period.
This course starts week commencing the entry date stated above.
You can continue on to study further AAT courses or go into employment.
