It is essential that an accountant understands the whole of the business
environment. This level includes the basic building blocks of financial
accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
During this course you will cover additional units vital to the role of
accounts assistant e.g computerised accounts and basic costing. To facilitate this and to provide sufficient UCAS points for those wishing to
progress into HE you will also study a BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Business and
Finance (equivalent to one A level). All elements of this course are
mandatory.

Course Length: 32 - 33 Weeks
You will need 5 GCSEs grades 4 and above including maths and English.
The AAT is assessed by computer based exams and computer based projects. Upon completion of the computer based exams you will receive immediate notification of your result and an analysis of your performance on each task. The BTEC is assessed through unitised assignments marked by the tutors. A D* grade in the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma will give you 56 UCAS points.
You can progress onto AAT Level 3 after successfully completing this course on either a full time basis or by moving into the work place and studying part time. This course can also be undertaken as part of an apprenticeship programme.
