Aviation Level 3

This is a specialist course that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the Aviation Industry. It provides you with skills in health, safety, security and communications required to work within an Airport environment. It is recognised by the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Skills and knowledge will be developed through a portfolio of case studies, reports, projects, practical role plays, presentations and discussions. You will be based at the Sutton Coldfield campus in our Aviation classroom which includes a mock up of the interior of a passenger airplane. You will visit a variety of UK airports to further develop your knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry. 

Upon successful completion of the first year you will progress onto the second year."

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You will need 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above including English and Maths. A positive school or college reference demonstrating good levels of attendance and punctuality will also be required.

Our programme is delivered and assessed using a variety of methods including exams, practical projects, presentations, role play, reports and assignments. The course work will be completed using a range of assessment methods both individually and in groups to help develop employment skills.

On completion of the course you will have a comprehensive understanding of the key elements and components within the Aviation Industry. The extended diploma is equivalent to 3 A Levels, where you will study 90 credits (1.5 A-Levels) in year one, with the opportunity to progress to year 2 to complete the extended diploma (3 A-Levels). Upon successful completion of the 2 year course you will have enough UCAS points to study HE programmes at University.
