Building Services Diploma level 1 (Electrical & Plumbing)

Get your foot on the building services ladder. This Level 1 course is designed to support learners into the building services industry. Theory elements include plumbing and electrical principles and basic systems in dwellings. Practical elements introduce students to basic hand skills, jointing and installation methods for cable and pipework.

This course can be a progression route into electrical or plumbing and offers a more supported route into the construction environment.  You will get to study units in both electrical and plumbing and you will also complete units in personal and social development that will include: Health & safety at work, Communication in the workplace, Preparation for work.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

Minimum grade 3 GCSE in English and maths, with a target of 100% attendance.

You will sit practical assessments for each unit and build a portfolio of evidence. Units are assessed through friendly, motivated and interesting tasks, which are internally assessed.

Successful students will be allowed direct entry on to one of the following: Apprenticeship, Electrical Level 2, Plumbing Level 2 or employment.
