Carpentry & Joinery Diploma Level 2

If you would like to become a Joiner in the world of construction but don't yet have the skills, our Carpentry & Joinery course will show you the way and help you carve a career in construction.

This course provides you with the basic knowledge, understanding and skills to become qualified within carpentry and joinery.

On this course you will build on skills and knowledge about using hand tools, portable power tools and creating basic woodworking joints to include first fixing and second fixing. You will learn how to set up structural carcassing, how to use and maintain a circular saw and carry out maintenance work.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

Entry onto this programme is by successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma. You must also have GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or above or an equivalent qualification.

You will be observed through practical work and also will take an exam.

Once you have finished this course you can continue to study the Level 3 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery, or you could find employment within the sector.
