Digital Design Diploma Level 1

The programme is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in developing their digital and IT skills. This course focuses on the skills required to move into careers in graphics, digital marketing, IT and more!

This one-year design course will introduce you to a range of digital skills. Using research as a starting point, you will learn and develop a broad range of practical techniques and skills to produce creative work in the areas of software design, photography and graphics design.

No formal qualifications are required but you will have an interest in design, digital art and IT.  You should prepare a short portfolio of drawings or sketches.

You will work in our PC and Mac design studios on projects such as animation, photography, graphic design and using IT for business. All projects are split into units and assessment takes place throughout the year.

This course will prepare you for a higher level of study at Level 2 and beyond in subjects including graphic design, photography, media and IT.

By enrolling on our courses students become part of our Creative and Digital Career College which helps them to further develop their employability skills and network with employers in a range of activities such as live briefs, workshops, guru talks, etc. We are the only educational institution in Birmingham who is part of the Careers Colleges Trust which helps young people to gain careers in digital industries. We work with a number of local, national and international employers, e.g. AWS (Amazon), Fujitsu and Advanced Birmingham – all multinational business and IT services providers – who set live brief for our students who are working in groups and compete against other students on a local and national level.
