Want to work as an electrician in the building services industry?
This Electrical Installation course has been designed to deliver a high level
of occupational skills. As part of this course, you will be expected to develop
your maths and English and provide a platform from which to progress onto either
an apprenticeship or into employment.
This qualification is designed to cover many areas within the Electro
Technical Technology sector. Learning covers practical hands-on tasks which
complement the main learning areas of Health and Safety, Principals of
Electrical Science and Electrical Installation Technology.
BMet work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and
delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the
industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the
employers. This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining
employment in the electrotechnical industry or specialist further
study.
* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.
You require the minimum GCSE grade 4 or above in maths and English. If you
do not meet the entry requirements you can enrol on one of our Construction
Level 1 courses where you have the opportunity to start your journey at the same
time raise your maths and English grades.
You will be expected to have 100% attendance, 100% punctuality and homework
completed and submitted timely.
As a condition of enrolment, and towards being prepared for learning,
learners must supply the following items:
On-Site
Guide (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022) (Electrical Regulations)
– The On-Site Guide is an essential part of an electrician’s toolkit, as such,
from the first week of the course tutors require that learners refer to this
document. The book is reference material, and it is essential ALL learners
obtain a copy because it can be referred to during internal assessments and
formal exams. During the sixth week of the course learners will be assessed on
their understanding of this document, the result of that assessment will
contribute towards the tutor’s determination as to whether a learner will remain
on the course after the sixth week.

Safety Boots
– Site Safety Boots are essential part of an electrician’s PPE (Personal
Protective Equipment), from the first week of the course this equipment must be
worn in the workshop and other construction areas.
