FT GCSE Programme (Science Route)

Level 2 - Intermediate

FT GCSE Programme (Science Route)

This is a full-time course where students study three separate Science GCSEs plus English and Maths (GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry, GCSE Physics, GCSE Maths, GCSE English Language) over one year, so would achieve five GCSE qualifications.

We offer a unique opportunity to re-sit GCSE Combined Science. You study this course for a year, and you will receive 2 GCSE grades.

Many Job roles or degree require a minimum of a grade 4 GCSE in Science, so we provide the opportunity to either improve your grade. As these GCSE’s are completed in one year, we require all applicants to undertake a diagnostic assessment in science to choose between Foundation and Higher programme.

Your suitability for the course will be discussed at interview, where we will consider individual educational background, experience, and any prior qualifications you may have. Applicants will also undertake brief Maths and English (mainly reading and writing) assessments during the application and interview process for this course. Successful applicants will simply be those who our experienced staff consider have a reasonable chance in securing Grade 4/C or above in each of the subjects taken, at the end of one year of study.

On this full-time course you will study five GCSEs over one year including GCSE English Language and Maths, providing a platform for successful students to progress on to Level 3 study. This course is therefore equally suited to school leavers looking to resit GCSEs with the aim of progressing on to A Level study, or for older applicants looking to return to study and progress through Level 3 and on to university. Your study will be supported by dedicated tutors and a range of online resources that will be provided in addition to full-time classroom and laboratory based learning.

Students who successfully complete this course (achieving at least 4 GCSE’s at Grades 4/C or above including English Language and Maths and demonstrating an appropriate attitude to study) are guaranteed progression onto our full-time A Level programme.  Other progression routes are also available.
