The course is designed to provide you with an introduction to health and social care as well as working with children and young people. You will learn about key aspects of employees roles within these jobs.

This course offers an introduction to health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings. It is for people who want to work in this area in the future. This qualification will help you develop knowledge and understanding of the sector, so you can decide what sort of job you would like to do. This course is suitable for you if you are aged 19 or above and you have little or no experience in health and social care and/or childcare.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 14 - 16 Weeks

You should be at least 19 years old with a minimum working level Entry 3 in Literacy/ ESOL (essential) and Numeracy (desired).

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods including posters, reports, assignments and case studies.

This qualification allows progress onto the NCFE CACHE Level 1 Certificate and/or NCFE CACHE Level 2 Health and Social Care or Early Years Educator/ Support Teaching and Learning qualifications.
