Maths - Functional Skills & GCSE (Adults)

It all adds up! Functional Skills Maths (Entry – Level 2) - this course is for adults who want to develop the maths skills for everyday life. Maths GCSE - this course is designed for adults who are already quite confident in maths and aiming for a grade 4 or higher. You will work on the skills you need to move on in your studies or work. When you come to enrol, you will be given an initial assessment to determine your level. The level of course you are offered will depend on the outcome of this. This course is assessed by examination at different points in the year.

Maths GCSE - this course is designed for adults who are already quite confident in maths and aiming for a grade 4 or higher. There are three main topic areas; Number and Algebra, Geometry and Measure, Statistics and Probability. Number and Algebra develops skills in working with numbers including fractions, decimals, and percentages; standard form and indices; introduces algebraic concepts and furthers techniques in graphical representation and solutions of equations. The Geometry and Measure topics look at angles and shapes, measurement and construction and well as trigonometry. Finally, Statistics and Probability deals with handling, interpreting and analysing data as well as probability theory.
