Level 2 - Intermediate

Plumbing Diploma Level 2

Study in industry standard facilities and be taught by experienced tutors – this is a continuation from level 1 Plumbing.

This course will further develop the skills you have learnt at level 1 and give you a range of practical skills to enable you to work as a plumber. Topics covered include safety, cold and hot water plumbing, central heating pipe work, sanitation and environmental awareness.

You will need four GSCEs at grade D/3 or above plus minimum grade 4 in maths and English.

You will also be asked to attend an interview.

You will be expected to have 100% attendance, 100% punctuality and homework completed and submitted timely.

This course is assessed by practical work and a portfolio of evidence.

For level 2 plumbing courses the following items must be provided by the learner:

Water Regulations Guide ISBN 978-1-3999-0764-4 – The Water Regulation Guide is an essential part of a Plumbers toolkit, as such, from the first week of the course tutors require that learners refer to this document.  The book is reference material, and it is essential ALL learners obtain a copy because it can be referred to during internal assessments and formal exams. During the sixth week of the course learners will be assessed on their understanding of this document, the result of that assessment will contribute towards the tutor’s determination as to whether a learner will remain on the course after the sixth week.

City & Guilds Plumbing book 1 ISBN 978-1398361614 – The City & Guilds Plumbing book 1 will equip level 2 learners with the tools for success in a career as a plumber.

Site Safety Boots – Site Safety Boots are essential part of a Plumbers PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), from the first week of the course this equipment must be worn in the workshop and other construction areas.

Other Classroom Equipment – From week one – learners must provide the following to enable participation in electrical design and electrical science:

1) Scientific Calculator

2) Helix 300mm Metric Triangular Scale Ruler

3)Helix Oxford Maths Set

4) Pencils and Pens (Grey, Blue, Black, Red, Yellow, Green, Brown)

5) Eraser

6) Pencil Sharpener

7) Note Pad

Learners are not allowed to use mobile phones during exams and must provide their own scientific calculator.
