Practical Horticulture Skills Certificate Level 2

This course enables you to study the horticulture industry and learn the skills needed to work within it. You will learn how to construct and maintain boundaries, assess soil texture and condition, prepare ground or area for planting, plant out container-grown plants and how to produce a basic garden design. You could be working in public parks, gardens, sports grounds and schools.

This qualification provides a practical introduction to the horticulture sector to support engagement, participation, achievement and progression for learners at Entry Level and Level 1. It offers important industry insight to help learners to make informed career decisions.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 18 Weeks

You will need the Practical Horticulture Skills Level 1 Diploma or equivalent to study this course.

You will be assessed by someone observing your practical skills and your coursework which will form a portfolio.

Once you have completed this course you can continue onto the Level 3 qualifications in Horticulture or you can apply for jobs in the industry.
