Religious Studies A Level

Religious Studies is the natural A Level choice for students who are interested in an academic approach to studying religion, its teachings and how religion influences the surrounding world.

RE is the perfect subject for those with an enquiring mind and an enthusiasm for studying religion and it is aimed at anyone who wishes to develop their knowledge and understanding and skills appropriate to a specialist study of religion and ethics.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 34 Weeks

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including GCSE maths English Language.

This two-year course is entirely assessed by written examination at the end of two years of study, covering all content covered over the two years of study.

Religious Studies is a popular choice of A level and is well-regarded by top universities. It can lead on to further study in fields such as philosophy, and combines well with subjects such as history and sociology. It can lead to careers in teaching, the civil service, charity work, counselling, journalism, social work and many others.
