UAL Games Art, Design & Development Diploma Level 3

Do you enjoy computer games?  Are you an imaginative person? If so, a career in the games industry could be for you!

Games Development covers a range of skills that you will enable you to progress within the exciting games industry.

You will build your confidence and gain knowledge of the exciting creative industries that are some of the fastest growing in the UK.

If your life is based around playing games, then this is the route for you.

On this course you will:

  • learn about research and development of computer games and how to pitch your ideas.
  • learn practical techniques such as 3D modelling, audio editing and games engines.
  • learn how to use applications such as Maya, Unity, Photoshop and Illustrator through a series of exciting briefs that mirror the games industry.

You will also have the opportunity to complete ‘live’ briefs and enter industry-focused competitions that will help you build your portfolio to aid your progression.

Awarded by UAL Awarding Body you will achieve a UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication on completion of this course.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including maths and/or English, alternatively you could hold a level 2 diploma at a merit grade or above.

Assessment is by coursework and written assignments.

On successful completion of this course you can progress to higher education, an apprenticeship or employment.
