Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses Certificate Level 2
This course is designed for those who are currently working or would like to
work within the health and social care sector in a wide range of job roles. It
will provide you with the knowledge to answer a series of questions leading to a
Level 2 Accredited Qualification.
There are 11 mandatory units to complete:
1 Understand how infection is spread
2 Understand ways to minimise cross infection when working with babies and
young children
3 Understand the role of healthy initiatives when working with babies, young
children and families
4 Know about potential signs and behavioural changes that could cause
concern
5 Understand how to recognise when a baby or young child is unwell
6 Understand how to support and care for a baby or young child who is unwell
in the early years setting
7 Understand the policies and procedures relating to the care of babies and
young children who are unwell in an early years setting
8 Understand accidents that may occur in an early years setting
9 Understand serious illness in babies and young children
10 Understand the management of acute and chronic health conditions in an
early years setting
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. This course is funded
and available for learners age 19 and above who have lived in the UK for 3
years+
Once you have successfully completed this course you could continue to study
other NCFE courses or secure employment in the health and social care
sector.
