An award winning apprenticeship team
Sparkbrook Pharmacy has been praised by both BMet and the Asian Apprenticeship Awards 2017.
The Stratford Road-based business won the Apprentice Employer of the Year (Retail, Hospitality and Tourism) award.
Zahid Chisti, owner of Sparkbrook Pharmacy commented: “The team and I were very honoured to receive the award.
“I’ve always believed in the importance of continually training staff. It means they will provide great customer service and that people will always choose to come to us. And staff will want to stay with us too.”
He continued: “The apprenticeships BMet offer support the skills set of our staff, whether it’s monitoring patient records or the mechanics of dispensing prescriptions.
“The recruitment process and the pool of candidates BMet has provided for us are excellent. The fact that the college screens them for us first means they can identify who will be good for our business and how we can best support the person’s progress.
“I’ve recommended BMet and apprenticeships to others in the industry because they really are a way of ensuring that quality of care in pharmacy services is maintained.”
BMet Director for Health, Care and Medical, Deborah Taylor added: “The award success is testament to the pharmaceutical skills training that BMet offers. These are closely aligned to what happens across the industry, whether it’s in a small business, private practice or across the public health services. Our team of lecturers, trainers and assessors maintain close links to industry services, employers and training providers so that we are always aware of changes to working policies, procedures and legislations. All training and assessments are of the highest professional standards for the sector and support the individual continuous development of everyone working within it.”
