BMet achieves quality standard for careers work
BMet has been recognised for its outstanding careers work. The college has been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard awarded under licence by Prospects. The Quality in Careers Standard is awarded to education providers who can demonstrate the importance they place on careers and how they support students to make decisions about their life after college.
Jenny North, Head of Careers and Employment at BMet said: “We are thrilled to have achieved the Quality in Careers Standard awarded by Prospects.
“It’s important to us to provide our students with as much inspirational advice and support as possible to help them shape their futures in terms of further studying or starting work.
“This quality standard has provided a flexible framework that enabled us to audit our work and make sure every opportunity available to students at the college has added value to their time with us.”
Achieving the Quality in Careers Standard shows how colleges and schools embrace, promote and endorse quality careers education and recognise the part it plays in the overall success of the college and its students.
The college offers a range of activities to introduce students to the world of work and help them make decisions about life after college. These include running higher education fairs, university personal statement writing sessions and job search weeks where employers share careers advice, hold practice interview and CV writing sessions.
