BMet showcases “Skills for Life” during National Apprenticeship Week
Students, staff and partner employers at BMet are shining a spotlight on the skills and talents of apprentices, through a weeklong schedule of activities for National Apprenticeship Week.
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) starts today and this year, the 18th annual awareness week has the theme, “Skills for Life.”
The special occasion enables people across the country to come together to celebrate the good work of apprentices and showcase the benefits of apprenticeships.
Moreover, the week seeks to highlight how apprenticeships are an excellent option for young people wishing to start a career, for employees looking to progress in their current role or retrain for a new career, or for employers needing to fill skills gaps to help grow their businesses.
BMet will be fully supporting NAW with a variety of inspiring content that will be shared across the college’s social media channels and website.
To showcase the many career-focused apprenticeship pathways that BMet has to offer, a series of positive case studies, testimonials and videos will be circulated through the college’s social media channels, in support of #NAW2025 #SkillsForLife.
The content will encompass key curriculum areas offering apprenticeships including:
- Business Development
- Construction and Engineering
- Dental and Pharmacy
- Inclusive Support
Among other things, creative content will include insights into journeys of apprentices and skills they have gained, employer features and experiences of BMet employees who have chosen to do apprenticeships to enhance their careers.
An interactive word search will also give people the chance to search for words related to apprenticeships, through the college’s social media sites – Facebook (@BMet), Instagram (@bmetcollege), LinkedIn (@BMet) and X (@BMetC).
Speaking of BMet’s activities planned for National Apprenticeship Week, Suzie Branch-Haddow, Vice Principal – External Development said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a key date in BMet’s calendar. It’s a chance to highlight the value of apprenticeships for learners and employers and to really showcase student and staff achievements.
“It is a great time to reflect on how apprenticeships help people build the skills for a successful career and how businesses can develop a talented workforce.”
