BMet to host brand new apprenticeship social meet-up event for the Midlands – and all Birmingham apprentices are welcome!

BMet is welcoming apprentices to the first ever “Apprenticeship Meet-Up: Birmingham” event for the region this October, that’s set to spark an array of connections, networking and development.

Held at the Matthew Boulton College site, on October 4 between 4-7pm, in collaboration with The Association of Apprentices (AoA), the one-of-a-kind opportunity will give likeminded apprentices in Birmingham the chance to get together in a socially enriching environment.

Apprentices throughout the UK have expressed that they often miss out on the social element to the apprentice experience, so this exclusive meet-up has been specially designed to fulfil important needs that are key to their overall development.

Among other things, the not to be missed event, will enable apprentices to:

• Meet apprentice peers from across Birmingham and build their community
• Enhance social and professional networking skills
• Develop skills and behaviours and learn from experts in building relationships, confidence, and personal brand
• Have an enhanced apprentice experience, increasing engagement and commitment to their programme
• Take part in development sessions that may count towards “off-the-job learning”
• Have an opportunity to become a member of the Association of Apprentices, with access to a professional networking platform and support network.

On top of all this, attendees will also have the chance to liaise over drinks and nibbles, with uplifting music to add to the positive vibes for the evening.

Speaking of the upcoming Apprenticeship Meet-up: Birmingham event, Suzie Branch Haddow, Vice Principal – External Development, said: “We are excited to be given this opportunity to hold such a unique and much needed event, that will be extremely beneficial to the social and professional development of apprentices throughout Birmingham.

“We are expecting it to be a very popular event and with demand being high, so we encourage apprentices to register their interest straightaway to avoid missing out on this fantastic event!”

This exciting occasion follows BMet’s recent joining to the AoA, as the only regional college with corporate membership. Membership means that BMet apprentices are able to connect socially and professionally with other apprentices, have access to 1000s of resources and attend events held by the association.

If you are an employer that has apprentices working with you, please send this Eventbrite link to them, so they can register their spot for this popular event: Apprentice Meet Up: Birmingham Tickets, Tue 4 Oct 2022 at 16:00 | Eventbrite

Anyone coming alone can join AoA to find an apprentice buddy to go with here: For Apprentices – Association of Apprentices. Apprentices do not need to be members of the Association of Apprentices to attend, but to find out more about who we are and what we do they may sign up here.
