College students hosting fashion fundraiser
Fashion fans who love a bargain will have the best of both worlds at an event hosted by foundation learning students at Stourbridge College. A ladies ‘ fashion show with a pop up shop takes place next Thursday (17 November) at the Art and Design Centre, Brierley Hill at 7pm.
High street fashion from Top Shop, Marks and Spencer, New Look and others will be available at discounted prices of 50% or more, with opportunities for shoppers to try before they buy. A catwalk will also showcase the best of the festive season.
Alexandra Crockett, Student Placement Officer at the college said: “This is the perfect opportunity to get set for Christmas parties and the winter weather.
“The students are organising every aspect of the event from selling tickets, arranging the layout and providing refreshments. This will help develop their enterprise skills and provide some great work experience. It’s going to give them a real confidence boost so we’re all really looking forward to it.”
Proceeds from the event will go towards the students’ future learning and development activities plus social occasions such as their summer prom.
Tickets for the event cost £8 and include drinks, a buffet and entry into a raffle. To purchase tickets or for further information, contact Alexandra Crockett at Alexandra.crockett@bmet.ac.uk or call 07976 257611
