Community spirit shining bright at BMet
Caring staff and students at BMet are coming together to support the community by fundraising for local foodbanks.
The college has joined the national #FEFoodbankFriday campaign, which is seeing FE organisations around the country coming together to raise money for community foodbanks.
Many foodbanks are seeing a sharp decline in donations at this challenging time of the coronavirus pandemic and are very much in need of support.
Staff and students are pledging to do what they can to support the important cause and are planning activities to generate much needed resources for food banks.
A BMet Just Giving page has also been set up to enable anyone with a desire to help, to donate money to the community initiative.
Cliff Hall, Principal at BMet said: “We are living in extraordinary and difficult times, and it’s really important that we rally together to support one another.
“Positives can come out of every crisis and that is certainly what we are seeing here at BMet, as we join other colleges across the country in support of our local communities.
“We encourage people to show their support for this important campaign by donating to our local foodbanks via our Just Giving page.”
