New A Level Centre launches in Sutton Coldfield
Students and staff gathered to celebrate the launch of the new A Level Centre at Sutton Coldfield College today (Monday 01 October).
The centre was officially opened by Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP for Royal Sutton Coldfield. Commenting on the A Level Centre, he said: “I am very pleased to open the new Sutton Coldfield A Level Centre. This is a brilliant new facility which will provide high quality A level education.
“It is great to see Sutton Coldfield College continue to invest to ensure students not only have the best possible education, but also benefit from a fantastic learning experience at the same time.”
Work on the new facility was completed earlier in the summer, in time for the college’s returning and new cohort of A level students last month.
Sutton Coldfield College is renowned for its wide choice of A level programmes and the new centre will enhance the learning opportunities delivered to hundreds of 16-19 year-olds across the area.
As well as access to extensive learning resources there is a mobile bistro, a courtyard and welcoming social areas for students to relax and work in, between lectures.
Cliff Hall, Interim BMet CEO and College principal said: “We are delighted to welcome all new and returning A level students to our new A Level Centre.
“With an overall 99% A level pass rate and with access to fantastic facilities it’s a great time to join the A Level Centre. We are looking forward to helping our students achieve their full potential.”
Find out more about the A Level Centre at a career open event at Sutton Coldfield College on Wednesday 10 October, 4-7pm.
Saturday 20 October will see a College Open Event between 10am-1pm.
