Free Courses for Job Seekers
BMet offer an exciting selection of short free courses supported by local job centres, leading to accredited qualifications. We teach skills that are valuable to local employers and help you back into work. Our teachers use a wide range of well-planned teaching, learning and assessment activities to help you achieve your best.
Your course is free if you are aged 19 years and over and receive Universal Credit (UC), Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) or Employment & Support Allowance (ESA).
An in-depth interview and assessment will be conducted to ascertain your level of English and suitability for the programme of study. These courses are offered in partnership with DWP – learners will need to have Job Centre approval prior to starting a course.

Sector Based Work Academy Programmes
If you are unemployed you can sign up for a Sector Based Work Academy Programme. Affectionally called SWAPs!
Sector Based Work Academy Programmes can accelerate your return to employment. Completing a SWAP will help you apply for a job in a new area of work.
Programmes are designed to offer work placements and employer support. This will help you develop your immediate and future skills needs, enabling you to gain employment.
You could be back into work in no time and, whilst you are retraining, you will not lose your benefits!

Online Learning Courses
We offer a range of free Online Learning Courses which can be studied from anywhere in England. These popular online courses enable you to study for and gain recognised accreditation that is of value to your work and personal development.
You have the flexibility to complete the course in your own time online in the comfort of your own.
You are allocated up to 26 weeks depending on the number of assessments the course has to complete, and assessment is via completion of answering questions online or in workbooks.
